Scientists Create Tiny Universe to Study Time

Researchers at the University of Birmingham have created a miniature universe in a lab to explore the nature of time. Using 24,000 ultracold atoms, they built a quantum system that mimics the Big Bang and Big Crunch. This experiment shows that time can emerge from changes within the system itself, without needing an external clock. This groundbreaking work could help answer important questions about what time is and how it works.
